The Suprasorb® F wound care dressing by Lohmann & Rauscher, is used for wounds with slight exudation during the epithelialization phase. Suprasorb® F supports a moist wound environment by protecting the wound from micro-organisms and moisture, while allowing excess water vapor to escape. It produces a non-sticky gel which keeps the wound bed from drying out. Bacteria and germs become entrapped within the gel and are removed from the wound site when the dressing is changed. Suprasorb® F may be combined with an alginate wound dressing such as Suprasorb® A in cases of highly exuding wounds.
