Described as being "soft as the softest alginate, but strong as the strongest, wet or dry", Sorbalgon® by Hartmann USA is a highly absorbent calcium alginate wound care dressing. Able to absorb more than 14 times it’s own weight, Sorbalgon® quickly forms a hydrophilic gel that provides protection and coverage to the wound bed. While many alginates will dissolve with excess fluids, Sorbalgon® is designed for both wet and dry strength, enabling it to hold it’s form for easy removal with dressing changes. Indicated for use with chronic or acute, moderate to heavily draining wounds.
